A transaction cannot be edited or deleted

xBoox protects transactions whose accounting state is controlled by Banking, matching, reconciliation, Journal Entries, or a system workflow.

Manual transaction

An unmatched and unreconciled manual Expense or Income can normally be edited or soft-deleted. Income in a filed GST/HST period remains protected even when its Tax treatment produces zero tax. Change the filing record back to Reviewed before changing financial details or deleting the transaction.

Bank-posted transaction

Ordinary bank-created Expense and Income records allow supported Category, Tax, tax-component, Note, Tags and attachment corrections in Banking or their detail drawer. The imported Date, amount, payment account, direction and Bank Memo remain read-only. Existing Transfers and bank splits keep their separate protections.

Matched transaction

Resolve or remove the bank match through the applicable Banking workflow before deleting the book transaction.

Reconciled transaction

Ordinary bank-created Expense and Income records can correct supported accounting fields without reopening reconciliation because the original statement facts remain unchanged. A filed GST/HST period still protects tax-affecting changes. To Undo a posting, or change protected financial details of a matched manual record, first reopen the reconciliation through Accounting > Reconcile > History.

Journal Entry

An unreversed Manual Journal Entry can be edited through History > Edit. System entries, reversed originals and reversal entries remain read-only. Entries cannot be deleted or voided. Reverse an eligible manual entry, or use the controlled source workflow for a system entry. Filed GST/HST periods and current account and tax eligibility can block saving.

Bulk delete

Bulk delete may remove eligible manual rows and skip protected rows. Review the result counts rather than assuming the entire selection was deleted.

Permission

If the record is otherwise eligible but actions remain unavailable, confirm that you are the Owner or an Accountant with transaction-edit permission.
